Due to massive overnight flooding, all of Austin's hike and bike trails as well as Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake remain closed until further notice.

"Most importantly, we just spotted a paddle-boarder on Ladybird Lake," Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said. "It is a running river out there and we had to actually use the aircraft to get him off. You are subject to arrest, besides that you are not putting only yourself at risk but when you get in trouble, because you will, you will be putting our first responders at risk.

The Austin Fire Department said Friday that Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake will remain closed through noon, Nov. 4 due to high water and debris.
