Two homes have been damaged in what the Texas Forest Service is now calling the "Pickett Fire.”

According to fire officials, the fire spread to 20 acres and is now 80 percent contained.

Fire crews from as far away as Hutto continue to battle the brush fire in the Liberty Hill area, which has been burning since approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters from Liberty Hill, Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Round Rock, Hutto, North Lake Travis and Sam Bass were called to battle the blaze.

A STAR Flight helicopter worked for about two hours dropping water on the fire from above. The Texas Forest Service provided three bulldozers which continue to build fire lines.

The extent of the damage suffered by the two homes is unknown.

YNN has a crew on the scene and will update this story as details become available.
