Last week, the Jonestown City Council changed the rules for boaters in Devil's Hollow, otherwise known as Devil's Cove. It's a place boaters tie their boats together, play music and have a good time.

But now, that good time is concerning Jonestown city officials because of several recent drownings.

Last week the Jonestown City Council passed some new rules aimed at restricting the use of Devil's Cove.

Party boats are no longer allowed
No boats may tie off to private property
Boats will have to anchor 100 feet from existing boat docks
And it will now be against the law for more than five boats to be tied together.

“All we want to do is make it a safe place, but one that can operate within reasonable limits,” said Jonestown CIty Councilman Bill Nichols.

Jonestown city officials said they will put floating signs at the entrance to Devil's Cove to let boaters know about the new rules.
