Griffin, 30, was hit by a car on Exposition Boulevard on May 27. Police arrested 23-year-old state legislative aide Gabrielle Jane Nestande on third-degree felony charges of failure to stop and render aid to the victim of the crash.
Nestande, a graduate of Baylor University, worked in Rep. Wayne Christian's office. Nestande had been given a commendation for her work at the Capitol. Last year, she was a volunteer in Gov. Rick Perry's re-election effort.
Nestande's attorney will appear in Travis County Court on Friday and the case will be reset for a later date.
