Officials identified a body that was found in Lake Travis on Wednesday as 44-year-old Dexter Patton.

Patton was reported missing Tuesday by a friend who he was boating with on July 4, Travis County officials said. The friend said he last saw Patton on the boat with a large group of people and became worried when Patton did not show up for work.

Officials said a boater near Starnes Island found Patton’s body and a preliminary investigation shows he died of accidental drowning. The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office and the sheriff’s office are still investigating the death.

Another body found Wednesday in Lake Travis near Pace Bend Park has not been identified.
