An Austin police officer was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of boating while intoxicated on Lake Travis.
Officer Jason Huskins "will be subject to an internal affairs investigation," senior police officer Dennis Farris said Saturday. "He hasn't been put on any kind of leave as of yet."
Huskins was the impetus behind a program to install granite memorial markers on or near the sites where Austin police officers were killed in the line of duty. Nineteen memorials are planned for deaths dating back to 1875.
Huskins and James Ryan Englehardt were arrested after police were called to a home burglary where the owner said Englehardt entered his house and made a sandwich, according to KXAN News quoting court documents.
