Update from the Travis Co. Sheriff’s Office: The deceased has been identified as Pedro Vicente, of Austin. The preliminary finding of the Sheriff’s Office investigation indicates accidental death due to drowning. Toxicology test results must be completed before the ME’s Office releases an official cause of death.

Update: Rescue workers recovered a body in Lake Travis near Bob Wentz Park this morning, an official said.

The body was recovered at the Windy Point boat ramp shortly before 9 a.m., said Capt. Wes Priddy, a Travis County sheriff’s office spokesman.

Priddy said the body has been taken to the Travis County’ Medical Examiner’s office for identification.

Officials could not immediately say the body was that of a man in his mid-20s who went missing in the same area Sunday until it is confirmed by the medical examiner, Priddy said.

Earler: A search will continue this morning for a man who went missing in Lake Travis near Bob Wentz Park at Windy Point last night, said Capt. Wes Priddy, a Travis County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Officials were called to the park about 8 p.m. to search for a man in his early to mid-20s who had been in the water but did not return to the surface, Priddy said.

The incident was turned into a recovery effort last night, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said.

No other information was immediately available.
