A 23-year-old man disappeared in Lake Travis near Windy Point at Bob Wentz Park just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
Monday,
rescue workers and divers continued a recovery mission at Lake Travis.
The search was called off after sundown Sunday. Officials said the dive
to find the man’s body is proving difficult due to the deep water.
"What
you can't see if underwater, we have varying depths under water. We
have a couple different shelves so we go from 20 feet to 90 feet
underneath. There are also hazards under the water, some old trees, old
stumps, so our divers have to contend with that," Travis County
Sheriff’s Office’s Cpt. Wes Priddy said.
Officials with the Lake
Travis River Authority are warning swimmers to be more cautious when at
the lake. Low water levels are making swimming more dangerous.
Most people swim in the middle of the lake, which is the deepest and most hazardous part.
