According to an article in the Houston Chronicle, the former Lake Travis star has transferred from Rice to Texas State. As a true freshman this past season, Erickson had team highs in kick returns (27) and punt returns (eight) and he had one reception.

Erickson will join a Texas State program that will make the leap to the Football Bowl Subdivision level in 2012.

Texas State fans will be hoping that Erickson’s transfer is as successful as his last.

Erickson transferred to Lake Travis after spending his first high school semester at Hamilton High in Hamilton, Mont. He then helped lead the Cavaliers to three state titles and he earned the 2009 All-Central Texas Player of the Year award after piling up 2,389 yards of offense and 37 touchdowns during his senior year.
