President Barack Obama rallied supporters today at two Austin
fundraisers, saying he understands if they are frustrated by the slow
pace of change.
He first spoke to about 750 people at ACL Live, followed by a speech
to about 50 people at the home of Blaine and Alexa Wesner in West Lake
Hills.
At both events, he talked about inheriting an economy in crisis and
then rattled off some of his landmark legislation. He asked for support
in his upcoming re-election.
He repeatedly expressed a fondness for Austin, joking that he might run for mayor after his presidency.
The events are expected to raise up to $2 million for his campaign and the Democratic Party.
