Some up-and-coming Austin musicians got the chance to take the same stage where Janet Jackson, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp have performed.
Eight bands and 25 solo performers played and sang Saturday at the new Austin City Limits venue, the Moody Theater.
Organizers said the “Music 4 Life” event is the Lake Travis High School Choir booster club's biggest fundraiser of the year and a big thrill for the young musicians.
"When they get this experience, it is huge on their resume. It's going to build their confidence. It's going to allow them to open several other doors,” co-promoter and performer Chris Saad said.
Organizers said several music industry executives came by to check out the musicians, most of whom were from Lake Travis High School.
