Per-game prices going up for UT football, baseball tickets

 Season-ticket prices for Texas football will drop by $5 this year if you overlook the fact that Longhorns fans will see one fewer home game in 2011 than they did in 2010. Ed Goble, UT's associate athletic director for business, told members of the men's athletic council that season tickets covering six home games will cost $395. Last year, Longhorns fans paid $400 for seven home games, he said. That works out to about $57 per game for the 2010 season compared to roughly $65 per game in 2011. Individual ticket prices for the 2011 season will be $70 for Rice (Sept. 3); $85 for Brigham Young (Sept. 10) and Oklahoma State (Oct. 15); $75 for Kansas (Oct. 29) and Kansas State (Nov. 19); and $95 for Texas Tech (Nov. 5). Texas typically tries to keep the season-ticket price differences between six- and seven-game seasons minimal in an effort to make budgets easier to project and balance, Goble said Tuesday. As a comparison, Oklahoma will charge $408 for six home games this season, he said. Prices for UT's postseason baseball tickets will increase. If Texas is the host team for a regional this year, fans will pay $70 for reserved seats, up $10 from last year. General-admission seats would rise to $50, up $5. For a super regional, reserved tickets would cost $40, up $10, and general-admission seats would jump $4 to $26. "Demand is huge when we're in the postseason," Goble said.
