Suspected Hit and Run Driver Arrested, Victim's Family Relieved

Just a couple of weeks after her husband, Travis, would have celebrated his 25th birthday, Brandy McCoy cried in an Anderson County courtroom. Friday, troopers arrested 33 year old Antonio Glover. They believe he was the man behind the wheel in November, who hit Travis McCoy’s motorcycle while he was driving on Broadway Lake Road, and then took off. The young father died on the rural Anderson Road. The suspect has been on the run ever since. “I’m glad that he was caught but I hate the circumstances he was caught under,“ says Brandy.

As Glover stood silent before a judge, McCoy’s family begged for no bond. The suspect offered a small apology. “You know I’m sorry,“ Glover says. “It was an accident.“ McCoy’s family says it’s not nearly enough. “He didn’t really say he was sorry,“ says McCoy’s sister Cacee. “He just said he knew it wasn’t going to blow over. He didn’t say he was sorry. Didn’t act like he felt any regret or anything.“ Even though Glover has been arrested, they say, McCoy’s two children will have to live without a father. “I hope he gets what he deserves. He deserves to be sentenced to life. He took the life of my brother and the girls gotta grow up without a daddy. It’s just not fair.“

A judge set bond at $250,000. Now, McCoy’s family is praying for peace, hoping that the man they’ve been looking for stays behind bars. “He deserves to be where he is today,“ says Brandy.
