Chad Morris has gone from Lake Travis to the ACC in less than a year.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Morris has been hired to be the new offensive coordinator at Clemson. Morris, who spent the last year at the University of Tulsa, replaces Billy Napier, whose offense averaged 24 points per game as Clemson slumped to a 6-7 record this season.

Morris went 32-0 in two seasons at Lake Travis but on Jan. 17, 2010, he was hired to be the offensive coordinator at Tulsa. This fall, Tulsa averaged 41.4 points per game and the Golden Hurricane scored 62 points in their victory in the Hawaii Bowl.

Morris’ departure from Clemson may have an impact on the local recruiting scene. One of Morris’ former players - Lake Travis wide receiver Conner Floyd - gave a verbal commitment to Tulsa last summer and McCallum running back Michael Sorrells committed to the Golden Hurricane over the winter break.
