Winter begins (meteorologically speaking)

Appropriately, for the beginning of meteorological winter
(Dec-Jan-Feb), low temperatures this morning were the coldest of the
season. Camp Mabry recorded it’s first freeze of the season, with a low
of 31. Mabry’s average first freeze date is Dec. 2nd.
Readings in the coldest Hill Country valleys dropped into the
teens–the lowest a 16 degree reading on Johnson Creek west of Llano.
