Two Austin locations of Mangia Pizza are not involved in the recent bankruptcy filing by the original company.
The restaurants, at 2401 Lake Austin Blvd. and 12001 Burnet Road, at the Domain, are owned independently and are profitable, said Kress Childs, vice president of operations for Whalefund, which owns those locations.
“Our two Mangia Pizza locations are operating very well financially, with good sales growth exceeding last year’s numbers,” Childs said. “We want our customers, vendors and friends to know that we are open for business, in good financial standing and are looking forward to continued growth in the Austin market for years to come.”
A separate company, Mangia Pizza Investments, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
That company is responsible for four other Mangia restaurants and the location at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
