Travis County commissioners approved a master plan for the nine Lake
Travis parks the county manages, making way for larger improvement
projects at the parks.
Commissioners Margaret Gómez and Sarah Eckhardt were absent for the 3-0 vote.
Under the plan, the most extensive capital improvements will be made
at Arkansas Bend Park and Pace Bend Park, according to a county memo.
Fifteen percent of entry fees is placed into a joint county and Lower
Colorado River Authority account for capital improvements in the lake
parks, the memo said, and $2.8 million currently sits in this account.
Some residents voiced concern over a statement in the plan that
indicated that selling Tom Hughes Park may be considered in the future.
That statement was omitted from the plan approved by commissioners.
