The victim has not been identified yet, but officials say it is a white female. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to identify the victim.

The Austin Police Department is still working to locate the woman who went missing after she attempted to pass over a flooded bridge at RM 2222 and Lakewood Drive last week.

Police said 51-year-old Jennifer Ring is known to drive a Lexus SUV, similar to the one that was swept into the water at the RM 2222-Bull Creek bridge.

"The victim is unidentified at this time, but our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim in this case," Sgt. Keith Bazzle said. "Hopefully they'll be patient with the identification process and we'll get the information to the family and friends as soon as possible."

Police say the body was found near the Pennybacker Bridge around 7 a.m. Monday. It was floating behind the residences on the Austin side of the lake.

Lake Austin remains closed after last week's storm.
