Capital Metro will resume
running MetroRail trains from the Leander station today after making
unspecified repairs to a bridge at Block House Creek north of Cedar
Park, spokesman Adam Shaivitz said Thursday.
On Wednesday, hours
after flooding had damaged the wooden bridge over the creek while also
washing out the rock "ballast" below the track in places, agency
officials had said the repairs might take several days. Until then, they
said, MetroRail trains would run only as far north as the Lakeline
Station.
Shaivitz could not provide details Thursday on what work
was done to shore up the bridge or why the repair took much less time
than originally expected.
