It's getting a little tropical in Harrison County and, finally, some rain came.
A little wave coming from the Gulf of Mexico has brought showers and thunderstorms to East Texas, according to Nick Fillo, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Shreveport, La.
"It's gotten more humid the last several days from the tropical air moving in from the Gulf," he said.
Until Monday, Marshall had received 18/100ths of an inch of rain, according to the NWS.
While rain fell in Marshall, Fillo said widespread showers are not expected. "There's a 20 percent chance of rain dotted across the area," he said.
It is usual in the summer for spotty showers to move across the region. "It's hit and miss. Some have gotten rain for a couple of nights and some have not gotten rained on at all. It's not unusual for a rain storm to be in one area and half a mile down the road they get some sprinkles or no rain fall at all," he said.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid 90s and there is still a slight chance of more rain to come. It will form in the early afternoon and diminish by sunset, said Fillo.
