Lake Travis is bustling with boaters this Memorial Day weekend.

"It's a mess. It's just a mess," boater Bambi Reinke told KEYE as she waited her turn to put her boat in the waters off Mansfield Dam.

Big crowds of boaters had to wait in a long line before they could set sail.

Lake levels are still below average at Lake Travis, where authorities caution boaters need to watch out for shallow areas.

Swimmers are advised to wear lifejackets and to never swim alone. The Lower Colorado River Authority cautions swimmers should watch out for steep dropoffs along the lake's uneven bottom.
