University of Texas signee Everett Williams of McCallum High School slammed a home run and doubled off the wall to lead the South to a 14-6 win over the North on Monday night in the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game at Dell Diamond.

Williams, a second-round major league draft pick last week by the San Diego Padres, was named the game's most valuable player. Westlake pitcher Holt McNair earned the win, working three-plus innings, allowing two runs and striking out four.

Jon Gonzales of Hays staked the South to a 3-0 first-inning lead with a home run. The North rallied in the third to tie it at 4-all and took its only lead of the game on a two-run single by Trey Brooks of Llano that made it 6-4 in the fourth.

The South scored five runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to take control. Cohl Walla of Lake Travis drove in four runs for the South.

Dylan Mendoza of Lake Travis and Deron Mueller of Hendrickson were named the game's outstanding pitchers, Scott Brashear of Round Rock and Gonzales were the outstanding hitters, and Colten Boothe of Hays and Eric Garcia of Hendrickson received defensive honors.
