EMS: Woman in her 20s treated after hit by propeller in Lake Travis

3:20 p.m. update: A woman in her 20s was struck by a propeller near Devil’s Cove in Lake Travis and was being taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.

First responders were dispatched for a water rescue shortly after 2 p.m. and assembled near the Emerald Point Marina at the northern end of Hudson Bend on Lake Travis, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said.

The woman was taken to Lakeway Regional Medical Center with serious injuries but they are not expected to be life-threatening, EMS officials said.

Earlier: A person reportedly struck by a propeller in Lake Travis was being rescued by first responders Saturday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.

Multiple units were dispatched for a water rescue near the Emerald Point Marina at the northern end of Hudson Bend on Lake Travis, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said.

A Travis County sheriff’s office boat has retrieved the person from the water and is headed to a rendezvous point with EMS medics.
