Lucy’s Fried Chicken on the Lake

With the 2015 rise of the water level in Lake Travis, James Holmes’ newest dining venture, Lucy’s Fried Chicken on the Lake, offers patrons extensive views along with drinks, music and, of course, fried chicken.

Holmes opened his third location of the restaurant in Hudson Bend on Dec. 7 at the former Iguana Grill site.

“We [thrive] on food and service,” he said. “I had a feeling that regardless of the water, [the restaurant] was going to be good. And, now that we have the water, it’s kind of a bonus.”

The eatery also features a heated outdoor dining room, a deck, a bar built from a boat and a party room.

“Being out here [in Hudson Bend]every day for the last three or four months, it’s a cool vibe,” Holmes said of the Lake Travis community.
