The still waters of Lake Travis will be full of boats in a couple of weeks for the AquaPalooza festival.

AquaPalooza is actually the name of a series of summer concerts organized annually by Sea Ray at lakes and aquatic destinations across the country and around the world.

Last year Alabama hosted the signature AquaPalooza event. This year Lake Travis will host the signature AquaPalooza concert which features country music star Brad Paisley.

With the large crowds expected at the festival, authorities are planning to step up their patrols.

Todd Radford is the Chief of the Lakeway Police Department.

"Any kind of event like this where you have alcohol, heat, water and fun, you can have problems and we need to be prepared for that," he said.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is heading up security for the event. The department is coordinating with other local law enforcement agencies including the Austin and Lakeway Police Departments.

"The biggest thing that people need to recognize is to stay safe, to do what you need to do to be patient,” Radford said.

It is free to see the show, but attendees must be in a boat.

Buzz Watkins is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sail and Ski. He said that most rental boats are already taken. However, he has some advice for those who do have a boat lined up for the event.

"Try to get your boat in the water as early as possible. I wouldn't wait until Friday to get my boat launched. There is a lot of marinas and a lot of parts. I would try to get my boat in the water and secured before you come to the event on Saturday," he said.
