Paul MillardAfter another big night against Plano West on Friday, Flower Mound quarterback Paul Millard is getting closer to the state record for yards passing in a season. The record is held by Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert, who passed for 4,852 yards in 2008 at Lake Travis.

Millard has now thrown for 3,763 yards this season and has 40 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He finishes the regular season this week against Allen and Flower Mound will play at least one game in the playoffs.

He's averaging more than 400 yards passing per game, so at that pace, he needs three more games to break the record. Of course, that's a pretty tough pace to maintain in the playoffs.
