Most of Texas will be warm with chance of rain

Many parts of Texas will see high temperatures around 90 with a slight chance of rain Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast highs are near 90 in the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas, along with south Texas. The rain chances range from slight to 30 percent. Lows should be in the mid-70s.

The Amarillo area has the strongest chance of rain at 60 percent during the day before dropping off to 20 percent at night. The high should be around 85 with a low around 57 after the wind shifts and comes out of the north with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Lubbock has a 40-50 percent chance of rain with a high around 81 and a low around 65.

The Midland-Odessa and San Angelo areas have rain chances ranging from 20 to 50 percent with highs in the 80s and lows around 70.
