Two people were injured after their boat collided with a small island created by low water levels in Lake Travis early Tuesday morning.

Rescue workers from multiple agencies responded to Emerald Point Marina on Lake Travis around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, where they found a 22-foot boat grounded on a small island.

The crash happened at what the Travis County Sheriff's Office is calling a "sometimes island" across from the Carlos and Charlie's restaurant.

One man was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries, and a woman refused treatment at the scene.

Five public safety agencies coordinated in the search, rescue and transport of the boat crash victims, including: Austin-Travis County EMS Special Operations, Hudson Bend Fire Department, Travis County Sheriff's Office, Austin Police Department Air One and the Lower Colorado River Authority.
