Austin Police say the body of missing person Jamie Minor was found in a Perry's Steakhouse exhaust duct at 114 West 7th Street.

Police said there is no evidence to indicate foul play was involved in her death.

Detectives discovered a deceased person in the duct between the first and second floors of the building in an area that was not readily accessible.

Firefighters helped remove the body which officials said appeared to be in the location for several weeks.

Detectives said that physical evidence indicates that she entered the duct on the third floor of the attached parking garage. They said it appears she traveled downward through the duct and became trapped between the first and second floors of the building.

Police said all indications are that she entered the duct on her own and became trapped in an area she could not exit from.

Police also said they have surveillance video showing Minor trying to get into Perry’s Steakhouse that night. She tried to get in through a side door but was unable to do so. After failing to get in, she could be seen walking to the back of the restaurant.

Minor had been missing since May 23 when she was last seen leaving the W Hotel.

Her family said they became concerned when they had not heard from her in over a week.

According to APD Jamie Minor was reported to Bee Caves PD on June 7th but the family was asked to contact APD. That report was made on June 19th.

Friends had put up posters all over the downtown area in an effort to locate her.  Then, last Friday Austin Police issued a missing person’s alert for Minor.
