Amid the heat and drought that is like a plague across so many parts of Texas and the United States, a very small but potent area of disturbed weather could bring showers and thunderstorms to Central Texas later Tuesday.

As the morning progressed, showers that originally only existed in Louisiana, have developed and spread West into East Texas.

Given enough time, and luck, the Austin area could see some of these showers and thunderstorms move into Central Texas by this afternoon and evening. A slight chance for showers exists for Wednesday, but it’s back to hot and dry for the weekend and beyond.
