For the better part of three-and-a-half quarters it appeared the Mustangs had done everything needed to stem off Lake Travis and steal a game on the Cavs’ home court, but a string of three minutes changed all that.

The Cavs tore through a 12-0 run on the Mustangs, turning a 41-37 Mustang advantage into a 50-43 Lake Travis lead. By the time Marble Falls recovered enough to gather its senses, it was too late. The Cavs cruised from that point on to a 57-46 victory.

“We were right were we wanted to be for three quarters,” coach Bruce Etheridge said. “I thought we were in a good position at halftime, and we were playing solid ball. I thought turnovers were just the difference in the game. They were able to get some offensive rebounds in the game and take advantage of some of our deficiencies. Hats off to Lake Travis, they played a great game. We just have to get that turned around.”
