Heat blast continues across most of Texas Saturday

The continued combination of blazing sun and high humidity has the National Weather Service expecting to issue heat advisories across most of Texas Saturday.

In the Dallas area, it will be mostly sunny and hot with a high forecast near 100 degrees. The low should be around 82 under partly cloudy skies Saturday night.

In central Texas, the high is expected to soar near 102 degrees with a maximum heat index of 109 in Austin. A low of 82 is expected in the evening with a southwest wind around 5 mph.

Brownsville may get some isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. but the high will be near 96 degrees with the heat index at 107. Wind gusts may be as high as 24 mph and the will drop to 79 degrees.

Houston also has a 20 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. But it will mostly be sunny and hot with a high near 98 that could feel like 110. It will be partly cloudy, with a low around 81 Saturday night.

Up in the Panhandle, the sun will shine with a high near 92 and a low around 67 in Amarillo.
