Areas of Travis County experienced flooding Wednesday as heavy rains moved through the area. Later in the day, Williamson County had a similar encounter with Mother Nature.

The rain started falling around 4 p.m. and one particular cell sitting on top of Central Austin and eastern parts of Travis County dumped several inches of rain on parts of the city. KXAN’s Jim Spencer said between 1-2 inches of rain fell in a two-hour time span from Lake Austin Boulevard east to all the way Manor. Along Highway 290, between Interstate 35 and the City of Manor, six inches fell in a few hours.

Emergency crews responded to the corner of Manor Road and East Dean Keaton Street for a car stuck in water ankle-deep water. A few miles away, a viewer sent cellphone video of water rushing down Airport Boulevard and East 46th Street in front of In-N-Out Burger.

The KXAN First Warning Weather Team says a record 2.55 inches fell at Camp Mabry, breaking 2.54 inches record in 1961.

Several people reported funnel clouds, but it’s actually low hanging tropical moisture, which emits low cloud bases.

Another storm system that moved through Williamson County in the evening dumped 3-4 inches of rain in Leander, Liberty Hill and parts of Georgetown.
