Lake Travis' Andy Erickson scored on a 73-yard punt return, a 96-yard kickoff return and a 19-yard reception Tuesday as the South beat the North, 36-23, in the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star football game.

Erickson also had an interception, and he nearly returned that for a score at the Alamodome. The receiver, who has signed with Rice, was named the game's Offensive Most Valuable Player.

The North, featuring a dozen area players, took an early 7-0 lead on a 3-yard touchdown run by Pilot Point's Jarman Johnson. It came a play after Frisco Liberty linebacker Jake Weddle intercepted a pass deep in South territory. Weddle was named the Defensive MVP.

The North led, 17-16, entering the fourth quarter with the help of a 17-yard touchdown pass from Keller's Cameron Allerheiligen to Longview's Aaron Johnson. But the South scored three touchdowns in the first half of the fourth quarter.
