9:53 p.m. update: A girl who was critically injured on Lake Travis on Saturday afternoon has died, said Lisa Block, a spokeswoman with the Travis County sheriff’s office. Officials could not release any additional information at this time.

Earlier: A girl was critically injured on Lake Travis near Emerald Point Marina around 3 p.m. Saturday, Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said.

STAR Flight officials flew the young girl to Dell Children’s Medical Center after she was struck by an unidentified object on the lake, said EMS Capt. Rick Rutledge. The girl was unconscious, he said.

“The boat that she was in or with brought her to the marina where she was met by first responders and STAR Flight,” Rutledge said.

First responders began treating the girl at the marina before she was flown to the medical center, he said.
