Tuesday, police confirmed the woman’s identity as 51-year-old Jennifer Ring.

The mother of two children had been missing since Sept. 8. That's when police say Ring attempted to pass over a flooded bridge at RM 2222 and Lakewood Drive. Her vehicle got stuck in the water and floated briefly before the vehicle overturned and tumbled down into the creek.

Monday morning, police say two men illegally fishing on Lake Austin discovered the woman’s body floating in the water near the Pennybacker Bridge. It was floating behind the residences on the Austin side of the lake.

Lake Austin remains closed after last week's storm.
