Two new restaurants are under construction at the ambitious Oasis, Texas retail development created by restaurateur-turned-developer Beau Theriot.

The luxury, Mediterranean village-like retail center sits afoot the 120-acre Comanche Canyon Ranch development above the eastern shore of Lake Travis. The multiple-phase, $250 million project is planned for single-family homes, 40,000 square feet of office space, 24 condominiums, a 25,000-square-foot retail complex and a four-story parking garage.

Theriot, with partner Houston-based RHS Interests Inc., received approval in 2006 for the development surrounding his popular, decades-old restaurant The Oasis. The entrepreneur said in 2007 the commercial center would eventually include 35 to 45 restaurants and shops, possibly including a high-end spa and salon. Dick Clark Architecture is designing the project.

Uncle Billy's Brew and Que is one of the new restaurants joining the center. The business will sell traditional barbecue dishes and home-brewed craft beers.

The Schiller Del Grande Restaurant Group, which includes James Beard award-winning Texas Chef Robert Del Grande, is developing a separate space into a Mediterranean-inspired eatery called Soleil.

Both restaurants are set to open this fall. Officials said in a press release the retail village will open next spring.
