A lack of rain has left some Texas rivers lower than usual and made floating along on inner tubes a challenge.

Popular tubing spots such as the lower Guadalupe River have seen a drop in business because of the slow-moving water.

Kevin Martin, manager of River Sports Tubes on the Guadalupe River in Canyon Lake, says business has dropped off. But Martin says he'd take the current drought year over a flood year any time. Flooding can force river closures due to high water safety concerns.

The Austin American-Statesman reported Sunday that spring-fed rivers, such as the Comal and San Marcos rivers, are being overrun on weekends with customers. Spring-fed rivers are less dependent on rain for their water levels.
