Hays and Vista Ridge both got into the state 7-on-7 passing tournament on Saturday, the last day of qualifying for the annual tournament. In total, 16 Central Texas teams qualified for the tournament, which will be held in College Station from July 9-11.

Qualifying for the Division I competition were Anderson, Bastrop, Cedar Park, Copperas Cove, Hays, Lake Travis, Marble Falls, New Braunfels Canyon, Stony Point, Temple and the Rangers of Vista Ridge.

Burnet, Cameron Yoe, Lago Vista, Rockdale and Wimberley will play in the Division II tournament.

The Central Texas area has had varied success at the passing tournament over the past couple of years. Georgetown won the Division I tournament in 2007 while Lake Travis reached the quarterfinals of last year’s Division I competition.
