LCRA Generating More Power Following Blackouts

Despite continued power outages this morning, there’s more electricity being generated in Texas, thanks in part to the Lower Colorado River Authority, or LCRA. They are providing emergency hydroelectric power over the next 3 days to respond to the need for power. LCRA says they will operate their hydroelectric facilities at all 6 dams on the Highland Lakes for the next 3 days, which means elevated water levels on Lake Austin. Homeowners there have been notified of that rising water. LCRA says the extra power they generate will help the state avoid more of those rolling blackouts. And of course, LCRA officials also urge residents to conserve power.
