Water Treatment Plant 4, located two miles east of Lake Travis in Northwest Austin, is a $508 million project that will treat up to 300 million gallons of water per day. Construction has been ongoing for about a year and-a-half, and by 2014, the treatment plant should be operational.

The plant will initially treat 50 million gallons of water per day with expansions bringing its total treatment capacity to 300 million gallons of water.
