The Lake Austin Spa Resort was again named one of Travel + Leisure magazine's top 10 spa destinations.

The property at 1705 S. Quinlan Park Road just outside of the city limits offers 40 ranch-style guest rooms and a limestone-and-cedar spa called "the evocation of an oil baron’s Hill Country retreat" with "a New Age sensibility." It was awarded 87.12 points out of 100.

The Lake Austin Spa Resort was ranked 10th this year after coming at No. 8 in 2010.

Writers touted therapist April Day's "mind-bending" craniosacral massage as well as an "equally impressive" Chinese heat therapy called Tajii Moxa. Also, an exfoliating locally-grown pecan scrub reminds visitors of the property's Texas roots.

The winning spas are chosen through a reader poll and will be featured in the magazine's September issue, which hits news stands on Aug. 23.

The ranking comes shortly after being picked as one of the top 250 spas in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. Click here for that report.
