Deputies with the Travis County Sheriff's Office recovered a body from Lake Travis Sunday evening. Officials with the Medical Examiner’s Office identified the missing swimmer as 26-year-old Hugo Edgardo Pacheco Vasquez.

The sheriff's office received a report of a missing swimmer earlier Sunday. Divers discovered Vasquez’s body at 9:46 p.m. in about 5 feet, 6 inches of water near Bob Wentz Park.

According to witnesses, they looked for Vasquez about 45 minutes before notifying Park Rangers. One witness said reported seeing him at the restrooms. Rangers called the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team to respond when they could not locate his body.

Officials believe Vasquez's death was accidental, but they’re waiting on the results of a toxicology test before naming an official cause.
