Torrential rains across central Texas yesterday cause some problems for Austin area residents. Weather officials say storms today brought the highest amounts of rain since Tropical Storm Hermine moved through the area last September. Power was knocked out to thousands of residents, and rivers and creeks were filling up with floodwaters. Flights were also delayed at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport as the storms moved through the area. The Town Lake Animal Center took in dozens of lost dogs and cats that escaped their yards during the storms.
