Travis County Parks on Wednesday closed the ramp at Mansfield Dam Recreation Area on Lake Travis to all trailer launching.

The boat ramp at Mansfield Dam was the last of 12 public boat ramps that was still open as the lake level continued to drop.

Wednesday morning park staff found dislodged rocks and numerous scrape marks on submerged rocks just off the ramp, indicating that trailers were "scraping bottom." The ramp was closed in order to prevent damage to launching vehicles and watercraft.

Lake Travis has been falling a foot and a half per week.

If the lake gets to 635 feet, Travis County parks crews will begin pouring cement. They plan to add onto the ramps at Mansfield Dam, Sandy Creek and possibly Pace Bend.
