Where to watch the Longhorn Network?

The University of Texas is preparing to make sports history this week by pairing with ESPN to launch The Longhorn Network. The channel will feature 24-hour coverage of Longhorn sports.

However, it’s still not clear which cable distributors will carry the channel. Officials with YNN's parent company Time Warner Cable said they are still in negations with the Longhorn Network and haven’t reached a deal yet.

According to their website, the Longhorn Network says DirectTV will not carry the channel.

"You would be surprised how many questions of, ‘How I can get the Longhorn Network?’" radio talk show host Rod Babers said. “Anytime you are dealing with negotiations, the NFL lockout, it all gets done when it needs to get done."

Verizon announced Thursday their broadband service will carry the Longhorn Network through Fios TV, an exclusively online network.

In our viewing area, Fios TV is only available to subscribers in and around Kyle.
