Rain Chances Fall Short Yesterday - Another Round of Rain Possible Today

One look at a weather radar yesterday afternoon would have made New Braunfels and Comal County residents jealous of those living in Austin and places northward. Severe thunderstorms, with strong rain, winds, and even some hail stretched through the upper 2/3rds of the state, from Dallas to Austin. Areas like Llano County had more than an inch of rain, and the National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Travis and Williamson Counties through 6pm yesterday, as more storms swept through the state capital. But that’s as close as that rain would come to our area yesterday, leaving residents in Seguin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and San Antonio dry and disappointed, despite a couple of sprinkles earlier in the day.  (Radar image above shows South-Central Texas at a little past 5pm)

But the National Weather Service says that our rain chances aren’t over yet. In fact, they say today we have a better chance for rain than yesterday, and again, there’s the possibility that some of those storms could be strong to severe, with damaging winds, heavy rain, and hail.
