What better way to treat your best friend than with a trip for two to Lake Austin Spa Resort? If that bestie just happens to have four legs and a wagging tail, no prob.

Next month the famed spa introduces Celebrating Paws, a four-day program exploring the health benefits of pet ownership with certified animal behaviorist Patricia McConnell and other experts leading discussions and hands-on training. (Yes, there's a daily Yappy Hour.) The program will be repeated in November, but owner Mike McAdams' commitment to animals extends year-round: 100 percent of the $300 fee the spa collects for each pet visitor throughout 2011 will be donated to Animal Trustees of Austin.
