Tens of thousands of bees have infested a West Travis County home, located in South Central Texas.

A bee extraction team began removing the insects from a home on 620 near Bee Caves and Lake Travis High School.

The home has three large hives in walls and the ceiling.  One of those hives was six feet wide and seven feet tall.

The longtime home owner says the bees have been there for years and never bothered anybody, but when the air conditioner broke down, the bees started coming through the ceiling.

"We put our ears on the wall and it's all down the wall, up to the ceiling," homeowner Stasi Garnett said.

Walter Schumacher with Central Texas Bee Rescue says he has never seen a hive so big. He says it will take several days to remove the bees.
