Wichita Falls High School and Rider rolled through District 4-4A team tennis matches on Tuesday without dropping a single match.

The Coyotes (8-2, 2-0) dominated Denton Ryan 19-0, while Rider traveled to Corinth and blanked Lake Dallas by the same score.

Both teams will travel to Waco on Saturday to play Ennis and Lake Travis, a couple of top 15 teams, in nondistrict play.

“We liked the way we started off, getting early leads on all the courts,” WFHS coach Lee Gregg said. “I thought we played very smart doubles today. We’re starting to execute better and better with each match.

“In singles, we played really well. We did a better job of knowing when to be aggressive and when to be patient.”

Rider coach Ryan Guillen is searching for more consistency from his team, but liked what he saw Tuesday.

“We played well today and hopefully we can build on this and hit our stride going into the last two or three district matches,” Gillen said.

The Raiders are also 2-0 in 4-4A.
